.learning from life, not work.

i was out late yesterday. up till the wee hours of morning. i forgot i have work to do this morning till a knock came to my door at 8.15 in the morning. my head was spinning but i managed to climb out anyway. wishing i was dead.

i swayed to the bathroom and let the hot water rush through my body. waking me up. it never ceases to amaze me how taking a hot bath can wake you up instantly. especially during the morning madness, eye closing, mind numbing days.

i learned a lot of stuffs yesterday.
not during my training but after working hours.

i learned that the penang bridge is freaking jammed to the brink of crawling turtles after working hours.

i learned that BED in autocity has one of the nicest atmospheres, especially on the upper floor where the higher elites of society hang out. yeah, ppl like me. so that makes 99.99% of the ppl in the community elites.

i learned that draft is one of the lousiest drinks in the world. i prefer the sweet taste of vodka, martini or something along the lines.

i learned that if you need to lose the person to miss that person.. then most probably... you don't deserve that person.

i learned that truth or dare can be extremely dirty... and crazy.

i learned that even if i'm surrounded by friends... it never ceases to amaze me how i could leave everyone just to hear her voice.

i wish you called.

.friday mood is good.

yay! tomorrow is Friday...

which means last day of the week before the 3 days holidays.
double YAY!

which also means i get to wear jeans to work...
and sneakers too but i've been wearing sneakers ever since the second day..
so that doesn't count.

rules schmules.
who cares?

i think what matters most is comfort. a good company should not restrict productivity by enforcing stupid dressing codes. unless we're required to meet clients.

which we don't.

so... all the best ya all.

btw, who wants to go to Hitz.FM 10th Birthday Bash in One Utama?

.Malaysia is my career choice.

there's a reason why Malaysia and the government sector per se is losing credibility as a reliable career choice.

first, in order to contain the talent pool in Malaysia... the government definitely needs to change this mindset of Malaysians' Share of Wealth. I'm not saying who gets the bigger cut but we all already know that. While we are arguing about division of wealth, a core element in Malaysia is diminishing, which is getting wealth into the country.

no doubt the price might seem high to pay but in order to keep the really talented in the Malaysian government and continue working to help Malaysians in general, we should not let the talented be led by promises of lucrative deals elsewhere. True, we shouldn't let money decide their career choice but let's at least take money out of the equation when considering a career choice between a government working sector and private working sector.

Malaysia has gone a long way since independence and our oil reserve and natural resources is a good source of income... but there comes a time when all of this will be written in the past tense. Such a time is not long I believe.. with the current demand for oil and natural resources in Malaysia, it is diminishing fast, it might end in the era of our grandchildren or our great grandchildren.

What then?
Should we rely on our Malaysia, Truly Asia motto and go full force in the tourism industry?
It does not take a genius to figure out that our tourism industry is without it's pros and cons. The current natural attractions are getting raped by conglomerates for provision of wealth to the board of directors and shareholders.
And the more modern star attractions are taking up too much of our reserves.. take for example.. our pride, the Petronas Twin Tower... It doesn't take a genius to count the years that we need before recouping the amount used to build such a gargantuan structure.

While Malaysian government is busy with toilet beautification and sending astronauts to space through a foreign space craft, it isn't bothered with innovations and research.

what was spent in the toilet beautification program could be put to good use by researching and designing auto-cleaning solutions for toilets and also changing the mindset of Malaysians. What other countries utilize for free, we beautify it, enhance it, interior design it... and charge a monstrous amount for entry, and Malaysians are applauding and paying for such services with a smile on their face.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that these are mismanagements. A good country should have capable, innovative and hardworking workers. And it doesn't take a genius to deduct that workers who work hard and smart, should be paid, treated with respect and appreciated.

A well managed government is a well managed country.
A well managed country is a developed country.

.two facts, one false another true.

name two facts about yourself. one is true, the other is not.

me : first fact, i represent my school in taekwondo. second fact, i was a teacher.

trainer : who believes jimmy was a teacher raise up their hand.

*no motion + silence*

trainer : guess you don't have the face of a teacher.

another 22 year old fella.

: first fact, i'm a virgin (at this point, need i remind you ppl that i just exploded laughing). second fact, i represent my college in football last year.

nobody believed he was a virgin. to which at one point... he proudly remarked his sex status.

don't you just love this guy.

.farting embarassing.

you know what embarrassing is?

some people think that farting is embarrassing. especially if you're surrounded by friends in a quiet environment.

imagine farting out aloud during a class assembly... or during a meeting.
god forbid, you'd never hear the end of it.

the internal combustion of vile gas excreting from that molecular sized hole creating a friction which emanates a certain exploding sound.

kinda cool if you look at it scientifically. but a fart is still a fart. a vile smell excreted from the place where you let shit out.

but what irks me the most... is the evil soundless secretion of vile gas. and the pungent smell.. the glory of the fella who excreted it.

with a mask on his face.. he hides his smirk.

and when everyone runs away from the spot... the evil dude follow suit and act nonchalant... trying to blend in with the crowd.

that devil in disguise... that bastard son of a female dog.

that my friend, is the most embarrassing friend you can ever have... especially if he denies it and points a finger to you.. the one beside him.

p/s: this didn't happen to me.. but it got me thinking in the lift that day. cause someone let out a bomb and refused to admit. but come to think of it... even i wouldn't. cause it had traces of onion, rotten eggs and durian.

this is how it looks like once you enter through the door.

panoramic view. *-^

my bed. quilt cover and bed sheet from ikea. book and toy display rack from ikea.

i don't have much collection on books but it's growing. :)

the smallest cinema in the world.

my cupboard content. nothing much. i packed most of the stuff into the suitcase for tonight's trip.

.damn blur.

damn blur now.

in a transition mood. sometimes feel like high up the sky.. sometimes feel like down in the dirt.

feel a bit like on drugs only?

anyway, i'm thinking of posting a pic of my room and then seeing whether you can readers can guess who i am or what type of person i am through my room condition. kinda cute after i saw some comments in the star today. wanna see?

my grandma's coming to my house and she'll be occupying my whole room. in this duration, i'll be like... sleeping on the floor in my mom's room.

which is not comfy okay? feel like want to die of cold when i sleep halfway time. whatever will happen to my nightly movie marathons? OMFG.. will i forsake them?

anyway, i'm also thinking of taking out that 1337 Altec Lansing speaker out of the dusty box and assembling it in my room. I love music... and lately... I haven't had enough of them.

my current favs are The Rascal Flatts' "What Hurts The Most" and Samson's "Kenangan Terindah".

Wanna leave the house for a while. Can die when my grandma is here. I mean, she's ok and all but she speaks a very heavy accent of Teo Chew and whenever I dun understand.. i'd go "huh, yeah... yes, uhuh..yeah...yes, ok."

something like that cause i hate to say "WTF?" to her.

she wouldn't understand it but it'd still be rude right?

and i'm polite k? contrary to popular belief. and a bit sentimental.

just lying about the latter part.... maybe not.

talk about my day at Sega Fredo yesterday another time k? it was... eventful to say the least.

.a review of 300.

first of all, let me begin by saying that I watched this movie in Cathay BW. Which is a new cinema in Butterworth, Penang... But it actually sucks donkey ass. The seats are as turgid as a fat ass on crack and the people... the audience... there was burping behind me.. talking on the phone, ringing handphones, crying baby... just to name a few.

the cinema got me in stitches of anger.

however, it did not undermine the movie's credibility. the movie is a hit or miss thing. you either love it to bits or you either hate it to bits. for me, i was totally in love with it. maybe because it has too much of a testosterone going into the production. don't get me wrong... there were no sex scenes... but once you're in the movie.. watching it. you'll know it was made for fanboys and male ego.

the graphic novel illustration

300 is a movie adapted from the graphic novel by Frank Miller (the fella who did Sin City, which I also adored but don't enjoy the movie that much). Read more about the graphic novel HERE.

The movie starts off with the story of how King Leonidas ventures into the wild to become who he is now... a spartan. And then we have the invasion of the Persians, King cum God Xerxes (he's like bigfoot).

So, in defiance of the council and the law of Sparta who disagreed of this war, King Leonidas brought 300 strong men against a million or more... army of Persians. They won the battle not because of their spirit and superior superman strength or some stupid hero/action hero thing. They won because of planning and superior fighting/combat techniques. However, they did not win the war.

The main thing about this movie is the choreograph, usually fighting scenes are choppy and fast. but the fighting scenes here are sometimes in slow motion. They make full effect of the fighting scenes to create tension and force.

Basically, what I can say is.. a lot of male ego in this show but King Leonidas' love for his queen is totally cool.

believe me, if i could.. i would've killed the people in the cinema with a machine gun.

effects, effects.

Overall, i'd give this movie a solid 8/10. for the effects, a solid 10/10.

p/s: the oracle is wayyyyyyyyyyy NICE! damn those freaking half breeds.

.Freedom Film Fest.

This year marks the 50th year of Malaysian Independence. I'm sure those who've aged would've told us a lot of stories regarding pre-war and post-war stories. The truth of the matter is, I hardly know anyone who has ever told me any stories regarding those war-era.

But what I do know is that we've come a long way since then. Malaysia has grown a lot. From a normal piece of cloth, we call the "flag"... our ex-PM has marketed it as "Jalur Gemilang" and from Malaysia.. we have "Malaysia Boleh". Marketing in our government department is working... albeit sometimes it backfires cause i've heard people say "Malaysia Boleh..KAH?" or "Malaysia Boleh BLAH".

Every independent day, our television will be loaded with touching commercials from the creative brains of advertising firms.

However, haven't we ever wondered what we ourselves can do... what we can depict and what our young mind can come up with.

To those aspiring young directors or script writers or creative brains, here's where your point is. this point could be the point of change for your career.

Freedom Film Fest 2007 (logo at top right corner of this blog) carries the theme of “50th Merdeka: The Untold Human Rights Stories”. Komas would like to unearth stories focusing on human rights situations especially in the light of the last 50 years of Malaysia’s Independence. The FFF2007 is providing a venue and forum for you to share your stories through the film medium.
The theme couldn't be more simpler... HUMAN RIGHTS. Malaysia deals with a lot of issue there.

.things i've learnt.

you know, since i've had this disgusting growth on the sole of my feet, my personal social life has gone from dim to zilch.

and i've had a couple of revelations these few days. let me share some with you.

sales engineers can sleep like a fucking pig during office hours.

i can have the shortest relationship but i won't mind it. just as long as she's happy now.

i can jump a lot. for a long long time.

i have friends that care for me. who call me at 11.00pm and tells me about something she knows regarding my... infection.

i still have friends who'd call me to go out and eat laksa.

i will cringe like a baby elephant when the doctor pokes some foreign object into my wound.

i can listen to a song on replay for a few hours and still love that song.

i'm a bit emotional and i hate being alone. i need friends around me, anytime... everytime.

i lost a friend because she's too big for misunderstandings. i believe she's taking it too personal and i wish things were different but it weren't. we just have to live with the mistakes. it's how we deal with it who make up who we are.

i can talk on the phone for a long time. cause she's at the other end. it connects two. i love phones.

i can still drive with my toe.

my mom loves me soooo much she went out and bought tvb series for me. which she continues to plunder in front of the tv and i haven't watched a single episode of it.

i miss my legs more when i lost it. the simple things like being able to go out and buy food makes me miserable.

"confession of pain" is a nice show.

i need to pray more, eat more and sleep more, sleeping is da real bomb!

so, what have you learnt in one week?
